Did you know that J.W.M Turner was born on the 23rd of April of 1775 in a place called Covent Garden in London?

Even though his family didn't have much money, he was able to become great artist. He is very famous and important in the United Kingdom.

Did you know that Turner was a romantic artist?

​

This means that he liked to experiment the terrible beauty of nature. He loved painting in every weather at any time of day! He was fascinated by natural phenomena (like lightning, snow, storms, light and the movement of the sea), it was his biggest INSPIRATION. He even was called “the master of light”.

Did you know that Turner was really interested in technology?

He was obsessed with the technological inventions of his time! He learned about and painted the steam machines, like boats or trains, that were invented during the Industrial Revolution. (to learn about the Industrial Revolution click on this video)
